Amherst Crane's new 50'x100' steel pre-engineered shop addition with 20'x75' office is now fully constructed and ready for use! Their new shop addition was custom designed to house and service their large capacity mobile cranes. The use of cost-effective pre-engineered steel moment frames, allows this shop to have a large open concept work space, which was perfect to accommodate their mobile equipment. With large design loads such as these, optimizing foundation design with existing geotechnical conditions is such a critical component of structural design. Working closely with a good geotechnical consultants, such as was done here, can be a huge value added benefit to any project. Not only to help reduced foundation risks, but also to help structural engineers design the most cost-effective foundation.
