Operations Manager
Canvas Engineering is looking to hire an Operations (and Finance) Manager to manage the day-to-day operations of our firm as we continue to grow and expand.
Who we are and what we do:
We are a growth-minded structural engineering consulting firm based in downtown St. Catharines, Ontario. We work closely with architects, contractors, and owners to provide cost effective structural designs with focus on:
New commercial buildings and additions
Industrial buildings and structures
Concrete, balcony, and parking garage restoration
Our small 5 person team is tech-savvy and passionate about the work we do. We value client relationships and we love reducing our clients' construction costs with practical and efficient designs. The person we bring on should share our company core values, be process-based and organized, and they would need to have high follow-through to make the best ideas a reality.
Requirements:
Experience in a similar role is required. P.E or P.Eng in civil or structural engineering is an asset.
Role and responsibilities include :
Manage daily operations
Lead weekly office meetings
Lead monthly and quarterly management meetings
Assist and review project work (P.E or P.Eng in civil or structural engineering is an asset)
Measure financial metrics and meet revenue targets
Review payroll/timesheets/expenses and coordinate with bookkeeper
Assist in client onboarding and new project requests
Continuously improve office efficiency
Document, improve on, and create new processes
Provide guidance and mentorship to staff
Work closely with the CEO -- implementing and executing vision
